The advice was contained in a statement issued at the start of a prayer campaign for a spiritual revival of the world’s priests.
The campaign focuses on adoration of the Eucharist.
Catholic World News reports the Congregation for Clergy, recently released a document which calls for a worldwide drive to promote Eucharistic adoration "for the reparation of faults and sanctification of priests."
The Congregation urges diocesan bishops around the world to join in the campaign. It recommends specific steps to foster a spirit of Eucharistic adoration.
“A great many things are necessary for the departure point to be a spiritual endeavour,” the document states.
“A spiritual renewal will only come through prayer.
“Pope Benedict strongly recommended Eucharistic adoration as an apt and effective form of prayer for priestly vocations.”
