Misty's brothel in Tusculum Street, Potts Point must cease operating by 9 April after the Court of Appeal refused to overturn a Land and Environment Court ruling made last year, forcing its closure, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
During that hearing, the City of Sydney argued the brothel's patrons were causing a continued and detrimental effect on local residents and students.
The council's action followed complaints from St Vincent's College and local residents about the conduct of brothel patrons, bad language, and increased noise and traffic.
The court also rejected a request by De Cue for an extension of time to vacate the premises.
Back to jail for serial church burglar
In another story, the Herald reports that a Queensland man with a history of breaking into churches, including St James Catholic Church at Coorparoo, has been sent back to jail for his latest spate of offences.
Barry John Hair, 31, of Eidsvold, north-west of Brisbane, pleaded guilty in the Brisbane District Court to unlawfully entering 10 Brisbane churches between 8 September and 11 November last year.
Prosecutor Julie Aylward told the court Hair began targeting the churches within days of his release from prison for committing similar offences.
Ms Aylward said Hair had a lengthy criminal history that included previously breaking into churches in Brisbane and Toowoomba, and had prompted a police pursuit in a stolen car.
