Andrew follows calling to Catholic priesthood

Andrew Hogan

Andrew Hogan is dedicating his life to showing people that God loves them. The Rockhampton man could always feel a calling to God, and now at 31, he's ready to fulfil that calling, reports The Morning Bulletin.

Andrew is expected to be ordained next year to become a Catholic priest in Rockhampton. He said it had taken him time to understand where he was meant to be in life. 'I was aware of priesthood as a child and while growing up, and the idea of becoming a priest became stronger and stronger as I got older,' Mr Hogan said.

'I went to the seminary from 2002 to 2005, but for me I was too young and I had too much doubt, so I withdrew.'

Along with a Bachelor of Theology, Mr Hogan obtained a Graduate Diploma in Learning and taught primary school students in the region for the next few years. 'I taught in Emerald, Gladstone and North Rockhampton,' he said. 'I enjoyed teaching, but you can't run away from God. That feeling was still there, so I re-entered the seminary last year.'

This time, Mr Hogan knows he's made the right decision.
