Priest on trial over abuse allegations

When a 10-year-old girl told nuns what a priest was doing to her, she was called a liar and forced to drink castor oil as punishment, reports The Australian.

A Sydney court heard this evidence yesterday from an alleged victim of the priest. The priest is on trial for sexually assaulting three girls.

The woman lived in a Catholic boarding house at Leichhardt, in Sydney's inner west, for almost two years.

The 78-year-old priest is facing eight counts of indecent assault and one count of rape for incidents between 1961 and 1987.
