A Lebanese-born philanthropist, a Good Samaritan Sister, a Dominican Father and Marist Father have received Australia Day honours.
Mr Louis Fleyfel, from Brighton in Melbourne, was honoured for distinguished service to the Lebanese community, to trade and investment, and philanthropy.
Three priests and a Sister have been made Members of the Order of Australia (AM) in the honours. The priests are Fr Walter Dethlefs, from Brisbane, for advocacy and social justice, Fr Kevin Dillon, from Geelong, for services to health and social welfare services, and Fr Michael Elligate, from Melbourne, for the promotion of ethics in research.
Sr Pauline Marcella Coll, from Scarborough, Qld, was honoured for her advocacy for the protection of women and children, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.
