Oscar Romero was a bishop and martyr of El Salvador. This website makes available a bank of materials on his life and martyrdom.
The publishers of this website
explain that Archbishop Romero's love for his people, who were suffering violence and oppression, led him to 'take their side and to denounce their oppressors. And so he was killed, whilst saying Mass, on 24th March 1980.'
Their website makes available a precious resource bank of materials on Archbishop Romero’s life and martyrdom, including: Texts of his homilies as Archbishop between 1977 and 1980 and his four Pastoral Letters all in English translation; photographs from childhood to his assassination and funeral; lectures and literature about Archbishop Romero; links to other websites, news of future events and much more.
You can also find further information about the Archbishop Romero Trust and its patrons and trustees, how to become a ‘Friend of Romero’ and how to support the work of the Trust financially.
