Council to consider Church proposal in Bathurst

Development vote

Staff are recommending that Cowra Council approves a proposal from the Diocese of Bathurst for a large residential development, reports the ABC.

The diocese is looking to develop a residential site on Redfern Street into 108 lots. Cowra Mayor Bill West says council considered the matter last night and was paying close attention to the proposal's plans for drainage and stormwater.

'It went to a council committee a couple of weeks ago,' Councillor West said. There were a couple of issues that the committee was not satisfied with or had further questions about.

'The report has now been reassessed and its come back to the council for the council meeting.'

Cowra Mayor Bill West says the proposal has been altered since the committee raised questions about the development.
