Diocese seeks Maitland heritage lamps

Mall with lamps

The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has expressed interest in purchasing heritage-style lamps from Maitland Mall in the NSW Hunter region for use in renovation works at St John's Cathedral and the Bishop's residence, reports the ABC.

Maitland Council has received almost a dozen expressions of interest from people and organisations looking to re-use the 39  street lamps.

The Diocese is expected to be offered 16 lamp posts at a cost of $100 each, while Maitland Rotary clubs will be given 10 street lights free of charge, reports The Maitland Mercury.
