Australian Jesuits

Men for others

Founded by St Ignatius Loyola more than 450 years ago, the Society of Jesus is a religious order of priests and brothers committed to the service of the Church.

This website advises that members of the Society of Jesus, known as Jesuits, are contemplatives in action. It says: 'The rich tradition of Ignatian spirituality gives us a way to examine our deeper desires and discern God's plan for us in the world. Inspired by that discernment, we serve the Church wherever we see there is need.

'Today, our community comprises not only Jesuits but also other men and women who share this vision of service to faith and to the justice that faith demands. Together we continue the work of St Ignatius and his first companions, serving Jesus Christ and seeking God in all things.'

This website contains news, multimedia, and information on the spirituality and works of the Jesuits, and includes a list of employment oportunities and information on vocations.
