Performance focus on what makes us unique

Back in the 1970s, Yusuf Islam, aka Cat Stevens, wrote “Remember the days of the old schoolyard, we used to laugh a lot.”

School days are one of those experiences everyone shares and each of us has stories to tell. No doubt some of these stories will be echoed in This is Me, the inaugural ASPIRE production.

ASPIRE is an initiative of the Maitland-Newcastle Catholic Schools Office that provides an opportunity for students talented in the performing arts to challenge themselves in a creatively stimulating environment.

“This showcase performance unites the four ensembles – voice, drama, instrumental and dance – culminating in a dynamic integrated production,” said ASPIRE Program Executive Officer Lisa Little.

This is Me takes identity as its starting point and uses a mix of original and familiar material to tell a story which explores the question, “What makes each of us unique?”
