From WYD rep to Aussie politician

When they hurl the word "Yank" and poke fun at her northwest Ohio accent, Kristina Keneally knows that election-year mudslinging has reached another low point. A 1987 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, Mrs Keneally, 38, is the first American-born person to be elected to the NSW parliament. She moved to Australia in 1994 and now lives in Sydney with her husband, Ben, a native Australian. She met her husband in 1991 in Poland while helping to represent the US during World Youth Day.
