Retiring ACU Vice-Chancellor to head QCEC

Retiring ACU Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Sheehan AO has been appointed as the new Chair of the Queensland Catholic Education Commission.

The widely respected academic and educational administrator, Professor Sheehan retires on February 1 after serving ten years as Vice Chancellor of ACU.

Announcing the appointment on behalf of the Bishops of Queensland, Archbishop John Bathersby described Professor Sheehan as an outstanding educational leader.

“We are delighted Peter has agreed to take up this important position and have every confidence he will guide the Commission wisely over this next four year term,” Archbishop Bathersby said.

Archbishop Bathersby paid tribute to David Carrigan who will retire from the role.
