Amnesty accused of duping pro-life rock stars

Amnesty International has been accused of "duping" Catholic rock singers who contributed to an Amnesty CD to raise money for survivors of Darfur atrocities.

Times Online reports that two weeks ago, just two months after the album's release, Amnesty adopted a worldwide policy to back the right of women to abortion in certain circumstances.

The album has already sold more than 400,000 copies.

The group Rock for Life has accused Amnesty of using the album to promote abortion without making its intentions clear to the singers.

Rock for Life is a collaboration of musicians linked to the antiabortion movement, including Catholics Avril Lavigne and Christina Aguilera.
