St Patrick's Cathedral in Parramatta will hold an Open Day on Sunday ahead of the tenth anniversary of its reopening since being damaged by fire.
On 29 November this year it will be 10 years since the re-opening of the Cathedral, which was destroyed by fire on 19 February 1996. Design Architect Romaldo Giurgola and the firm MGT Architects was commissioned for the restoration and design of the new Cathedral complex.
In March this year, the Bishop of Parramatta, Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, launched Project Ten, a program of major works of art, craftsmanship and enhancement of the Cathedral precinct.
The Cathedral's design has received several awards including the Sir Zelman Cowen Award for Public Buildings from the Royal Institute of Architects.
