Ecumenical Service for Feast of St Patrick

The Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture will hold an Ecumenical Service for the Feast of St Patrick this Saturday in Canberra.

The St Patrick Day Address will be given by the  Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, and the service will be led by the Rev Dr Stephen Pickard, the new Director of the ACC&C, with readings from representatives of the Catholic, Anglican, Uniting, and other churches.

The Canberra Celtic Choir will perform, and there will be Irish music from Anna Brown, John Kirk and Brian Hungerford. 

Prayers will be said in Irish and English by Nessa Delaney and Debbie Clarke. Richard O’Brien will read a poem by the late Seamus Heaney, the Nobel Prize-winning Irish poet. Canberra’s Irish organisations will offer prayers for Australia and Ireland.
