Catholic Social Services Australia, the Catholic Church’s peak national body for social services, is embarking on an exciting new phase in its 60 year history in seeking just and compassionate social and economic policies that will improve the lives of the poor and vulnerable in Australia.
Led by CEO and well known social justice advocate Fr Frank Brennan SJ AO, CSSA is seeking to fill the newly created role of Director Research. This role will contribute to the development of CSSA’s social and economic policy by delivering high quality research outcomes through implementing strategies that strengthen CSSA’s research profile including identification and prioritisation of research activities, securing funding partnerships and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
This role will work across both CSSA’s membership and broader church bodies as well as academic institutions to produce important research that will help shape government policy in addressing the barriers for those on the margins.
This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in academic research and able to develop high quality and compelling research and other material to help shape public opinion on social and economic policy. An ability to work collaboratively across a very small team and with a range of stakeholders is essential.
