This is a rare opportunity to lead a long established, highly respected community organisation. St Vincent de Paul Society Northern Territory is exemplified by the varied ways we impact the lives of those less fortunate in our community. Our comprehensive range of services is made possible by the support of volunteers, members and staff across the Territory.
The Society has been on a journey to consolidate our strengths to better meet the needs of the communities we assist. This is a great time to join the organisation, as it returns to a secure financial position, and strengthens and grows its services. Your role will be taking it to the next level.
In appointing a new CEO, the Northern Territory Council seeks a candidate who will embrace its vision, values, purpose and objectives, and who will continue the implementation of our recently executed strategic plan.
Your key responsibility is to oversee the day to day running of the organisation as well as outlining the medium term strategic direction. This will include managing the core services team, taking both a hands-on and strategic approach to operations, growing new clients, networking, managing multiple stakeholders, overseeing financials and promoting the organisation.
Ideally you will have experience leading a professional association, a membership body or a not for profit organisation. You will be a visible leader who is energetic, enthusiastic and has a can-do approach that makes things happen. You are comfortable handling the bigger picture and being hands on. In particular, you will have strong digital knowledge.
Having an understanding of funding and partnership opportunities in the Northern Territory, experience managing risk and governance, and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, will ensure your success in the positon. Change is constant in this sector of human services, so a deep understanding of the implications of the changing landscape and the resilience to lead through uncertainty are critically important.
Based in Darwin, the role will require occasional travel across the Territory and interstate. You would be joining a network of state associations and enjoy the ethos and momentum of an international Society. You will also have the continued support of St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland including a shared services arrangement of human resources, finance, grants, communications and fundraising.
Competitive remuneration, motor vehicle and access to salary packing and meal / entertainment benefits.
Successful candidate will commence in January 2019.
