St Patrick’s College Townsville Board of Governance is seeking to appoint a Principal who is committed to Catholic Education commencing January 2020.
As a Catholic and Independent Secondary Girls College with a proud tradition of excellence in the education of young women since 1878, responsibility for the governance of the College rests with a Governance Board of Directors and by Mercy Partners, a canonical body which governs Mercy ministries in Queensland. Located on The Strand in Townsville, we endeavour to give our students, who are both boarders and day girls, every opportunity and encouragement to develop their faith.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding experienced leader with highly developed strategic, collaborative and relational skills to lead the College into a dynamic future.
The Principal will be actively engaged in all aspects of College life, and will demonstrate the capacity to build positive relationships with the wider community and with day and boarding students and their families, both locally and from remote parts of Far North Queensland and beyond.
With a sound understanding of contemporary pedagogy, the Principal will demonstrate insight into education for girls. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, together with an energy, humour and warmth to inspire staff, students and their families.
As the College moves into a new phase of its Masterplan, it is essential that the Principal take an active leadership in its implementation and contribute innovatively to supporting the needs of all students, academically and vocationally.
