Bread4Today is a daily online prayer community launched in 2013 by the Redemptorists Oceania that can be accessed via an app and on social media.
Matthew Howard, Redemptorists Oceania’s leader for digital mission, said daily prayers on Bread4Today would focus on the COVID-19 pandemic for the foreseeable future.
He encouraged people to use Bread4Today in this time when churches in Australia are closed.
“If our churches are closed for the sake of keeping everyone safe through social distancing, please don’t see it as a deprivation. Rather, this time is surely God leading us into the realities of his world,” Mr Howard said.
“God, in one way or another, is leading us to the wounded masses. Together through prayer, we intend to unite with all those suffering.
“Our prayer community is determined to be a place of refuge for anyone feeling the pains of this pandemic. We support social distancing, but not social isolation. Join us in prayer and join us online!”
Bread4Today can be downloaded on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and can be found on social media on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
CathNews has introduced a regular feature on resources to support people’s prayer and spiritual lives during a time when public Masses are suspended. If your diocese, organisation or agency has a website, podcast, YouTube channel or other resource you would like promoted, please send a brief description and the relevant link to [email protected]
