Catholic Health Australia is offering a new scholarship to attend the highly-regarded Ministry Leadership Program at the Australian Catholic University.
The scholarship is open to people working at a managerial level in the Catholic aged care sector and will help expand the successful mission program to new participants.
It is named in honour of theologian and anthropologist Fr Gerald Arbuckle SM.
CHA chief executive Pat Garcia said: “The Mission Leadership Program is incredibly successful and has grown in stature over the years. It not only keeps the Catholic mission alive, it helps it grow.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our mission, to be mentored by Catholic leaders and help us foster new collaborations and opportunities across the aged sector and beyond," Mr Garcia said.
“We are looking for a future leader who will help inspire and motivate others to and help promote the mission and ensure its values are integrated into all aspects of our aged case sector.”
Fr Gerard said: “Fostering leaders who have a deep understanding of mission is crucially relevant to maintaining Catholic identity in contemporary contexts. The (program) offers participants, individually and as members of a group, the chance to immerse themselves more deeply in the founding values of Catholic aged care facilities through a process of study and reflection that builds on their experience.”
