Located in Melbourne’s north-eastern suburbs, Parade College is a Catholic secondary school for almost 2000 boys, with campuses at Bundoora and Preston. It is the first Edmund Rice school in Australia, dating back to 1871, and has a proud history of excellence in the education and pastoral care of young men.
With the advantages of space and accessibility, the College caters to students with a wide range of abilities and ambitions. It responds to differing needs by offering ‘the best of both worlds’, both academic and vocational. A strong academic program leads to the Victorian Certificate of Education, while a number of meaningful vocational pathways lead to VET qualifications and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning. Special features of the College are its Trade Training Centre and its Sport Academy.
Parade College takes its inspiration from Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers. The College is a member of the national body of Catholic schools known as Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). Staff members are encouraged to participate in personal and spiritual renewal programs locally and abroad, including immersion experiences for staff and students in Africa, Goodooga (NSW) and Arnhem Land. The College hosts an annual ‘Long March’ event on the property for local schools.
The College is very faithful to implementing the Charter for Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition with its four ‘touchstones’ of Liberating Education, Inclusive Community, Gospel Spirituality and Justice and Solidarity in all aspects of its operation.
Among other attributes, the right candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Support and participation in the faith life of Parade College including commitment to the Mission Statement, ethos of the College, Charter of Edmund Rice Education Australia and personal faith formation.
