Catholic Theological College in Melbourne has a new master, with Rev Dr Kevin Lenehan appointed to the role vacated by Sandhurst Bishop-elect Shane Mackinlay. Source: Melbourne Archdiocese.
CTC College president and Melbourne Archbishop Peter A. Comensoli yesterday announced Fr Lenehan had been appointed Master of Catholic Theological College for a three-year term from September 16 to December 31 2022.
Archbishop Comensoli expressed the CTC Senate’s gratitude for Fr Lenehan’s readiness to undertake the responsibility and thanked the Diocese of Ballarat for making Fr Lenehan available for the position.
“I have great confidence in the expertise and experience that Fr Lenehan will bring to this role, and I look forward to his contribution to Catholic Theological College over the years ahead,” Archbishop Comensoli said.
“I also offer my deep thanks and that of the Senate, for the dedicated work and ministry of Fr Shane Mackinlay during his term as Master.
“Together, may we keep Fr Lenehan and Bishop-elect Shane Mackinlay in our prayers as they both move towards new paths in bringing our people to God.”
Fr Lenehan was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Ballarat in 1993. He holds degrees from Monash University, Melbourne College of Divinity, and the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
He is Senior Lecturer in Systematic Theology at Catholic Theological College, University of Divinity, and has been its associate dean (postgraduate and research) for several years.
His academic work is in the areas of fundamental theology, theological anthropology, religious education and Bonhoeffer studies.
