General Manager - Hartford College, Daceyville, NSW

An outstanding opportunity for a seasoned professional with leadership experience and a flair for sales and marketing to join this new, independent Catholic boys school in Sydney's East opening in 2023.

The College

Hartford College is a new, independent Catholic boys school starting in Sydney’s East in 2023. Located in Daceyville, Hartford College is a new proposition in Year 5-12 education where boys come to learn, and leave as strong, virtuous young men. Offering boys a classical-style education and an opportunity for families to share in the full development of their child, Hartford College is an example of a new trend on the Australian education scene – non-systemic independent Catholic schools focusing on formation of students’ character and emphasising parental contributions to the educational and character formation process.

The Opportunity

The role of General Manager is a newly created full-time position with responsibility to bring to life the vision of the College. A seasoned professional with leadership experience, your key responsibility initially will be to ensure enrolments and the master plan are achieved for the commencement of the 2023 school year.

As a senior member of the Hartford College team, your key responsibility will be to develop and implement a strong broad-reaching marketing and communications strategy to attract families in the College’s catchment area to the school for 2023, specifically to achieve sufficient enrolments for the commencement of three classes in each of Years 5, 6 and 7.

You will oversee the implementation of the College’s Master Plan, and in particular, overseeing the renovation of the school building currently in progress to ensure it is fit for purpose and is appealing to families throughout 2022 for commencement in 2023.

You will provide the leadership direction and governance necessary to ensure delivery within strategic and financial goals and work closely with the College Board to achieve these objectives. You will develop and implement operating policies, procedures and controls, budgeting and operational planning protocols and governance frameworks and processes.

You will provide strong support and advice to the Board, enabling them to make fully informed decisions. You will also coordinate staffing requirements for teaching personnel and volunteers, setting of expectations and providing the guidance and support needed.

About you

This role will suit someone who has demonstrated leadership experience with a depth of knowledge in one or more of the operational areas of the role, i.e. marketing, operations management, business management, property development, and/or finance and administration.
