Job Description

Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview was established in 1880 as a Catholic school for boys in the Jesuit tradition. Located within Cammeraigal Country, on Sydney’s lower north shore, Riverview is an independent school, which delivers a holistic education to both day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.

We are currently seeking a committed and passionate educational leader for the role of Deputy Principal Students. This role shares in the leadership of our College community by supporting the Principal, the Rector and the leadership team.

The Role

Reporting to the Principal, this position is a member of the College Executive and will lead the pastoral care system and programs for students in Years 7 – 12. The Deputy Principal Students will develop and oversee a culture where cura personalis (care for the whole person), as an essential characteristic of a Jesuit education, underpins the development, formation and safety of students at the College.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished and innovative educationalist dedicated to delivering high-quality contemporary educational services. They will cultivate an environment where students develop a sense of belonging, a commitment to others and a desire to become responsible members of the community.

Qualifications and Experience

  • An understanding of and commitment to the distinctive characteristics of a Catholic, Jesuit educational mission.
  • Demonstrated experience in an Executive or senior leadership position.
  • Significant background and qualifications in education.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and embed innovative pastoral programs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of boys’ education.
  • Highly developed skills in effective interpersonal communication.
