Executive Assistant to the Bishop of Sandhurst (VIC)

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly organised, proactive, and detail-sensitive individual to provide administrative support to the Bishop of Sandhurst.
The Bishop is responsible for the Diocese of Sandhurst, which comprises around 90,000 Catholics and a wide variety of people, cultures, and ministries, providing services and support to 40 parishes, 56 schools and other pastoral, educational and social services.
Reporting directly to the Bishop, the Executive Assistant will provide high level comprehensive administrative support including:
- Management of his appointment diary and travel arrangements.
- Attending to all relevant correspondence and communications in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintenance of an efficient and effective record keeping system for the Office of the Bishop in both digital and paper formats.
- Maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Working in collaboration with Diocesan Leaders in relation to mission and pastoral life, administration, financial, and related matters as required.
- Co-ordination, collation and distribution of agenda papers and other documentation for meetings and conferences. Minute taking as required.
- Coordination and management of events for the Office of the Bishop including invitations, catering, venue, and accommodation as required.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- An understanding of and commitment to the operations of the Catholic Church and a commitment to the identity and mission of the Diocese of Sandhurst.
- Experience within a similarly high-level administrative position.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively build relationships with a large variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality while exercising judgement, sensitivity, and discretion.
- Highly developed word processing skills and a high degree of proficiency within the MS Office suite, in particular SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A basic understanding of Catholic teaching on the nature of the Church, Sacraments, Liturgy, and the Liturgical year.
- A basic appreciation of the role of the Diocesan Bishop and functioning of a Diocese.
- Qualification within Business Administration or an equivalent field.
