Job Description

The Opportunity

The Samaritan College community is seeking a dynamic, faith-driven leader with instructional leadership capabilities, and who will adeptly manage the intricacies of overseeing a three-campus college within a large regional town.

The Role

The key leader of Catholic identity and mission, the Principal will bring a strong vision to ensure the school’s values and faith perspectives are enculturated within all aspects of the College. The Principal will guide faith formation of staff and students within the context of the Samaritan College parish community.

The Principal will have a vision and plan to support staff formation and professional learning, relevant to all career stages: early career, mid-career, and leadership team colleagues.

The community seeks a Principal who effectively engages with students, families, and staff across all campuses, continuing to nurture pride in the R-12 College community, whilst supporting the unique needs of each campus.

The Principal will further strengthen community partnerships within the context of the parish, regional, and diocesan communities. Central to the College’s aspirations is the sustained cultivation and expansion of the school community, alongside active engagement, and contribution to the local community.

There are opportunities for continued innovative stewardship of financial and capital/infrastructure resources. The community eagerly anticipates further revitalisation and renewal efforts across all three campuses, guided by recently completed strategic and master plans.

About You

A collaborative and empowering leader, you will have a clear vision and evidenced leadership capacity for improving learning and well-being outcomes for students. You will support and mentor the leadership team, ensuring clarity of purpose and unity across the R-12 school community.

Upholding the individual dignity of every student, you will support the staff and community to nurture and ensure the well-being of all members. You will also be encouraged to actively seek opportunities to enhance family partnerships, creating a strong sense of belonging.

Characterised by authenticity and relational skills, being decisive and knowledgeable in matters of faith and contemporary education, you will continue to address the diverse learning and staffing needs of the entire College community.

The leader will seamlessly integrate into the community, serving as a community leader and fostering connections that will continue to enrich the school for the benefit of the families and students.

With a focus on effective communication and fostering learning outcomes from early years to senior secondary and which support the range of post-school pathways, the community seeks someone who can unite the three campuses towards achieving excellence in faith and education.
