The Opportunity

Ready to take the next step in your career? Join our Executive Leadership team as the Deputy Diocesan Director of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Port Pirie and become a pivotal leader in Catholic Education South Australia.

Based at our Port Pirie Office, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in close partnership with the Diocesan Director and strategically guide Catholic Education across the Diocese of Port Pirie.

As the Deputy Diocesan Director, you will:

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight for Catholic Education across the Diocese of Port Pirie, aligning with national Catholic Education priorities.
  • Drive initiatives to ensure high-quality faith-based educational outcomes and accessibility for all students in regional and remote parish schools. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Diocesan Director, Bishop, school Principals, Parishes, and the wider community.
  • Ensure the policies of the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools are effectively implemented.
  • Advocate for the mission of Catholic Education, representing the Diocese at regional and national levels.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support, sustain and grow all facets of the workforce across the Diocese.
  • Lead culture and change initiatives such as the Regional and Remote Education Strategy and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Strategy.

About you

  • Active participation in a Catholic Eucharistic community.
  • Hold post-graduate qualifications in Catholic theology and educational leadership.
  • Significant experience in senior system or school leadership within Catholic education.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively to influence and build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders to support system strategies.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity for significant travel and working via remote mechanisms
