Job Description

  • Newly created opportunity
  • Foster growth across three Centres
  • Full-time role and based in Melbourne

About Us

The Spirituality Ministry is a new ‘whole of ministry’ approach initiated by the Sisters of Saint Joseph, and a response to the spirituality needs in its community. Offering programs across its spirituality and heritage centres throughout Australia, the Spirituality Ministry will further develop and consider new approaches and create new paths of creativity that meet the changing culture of the Australian community.

About the Position

We are seeking a dynamic Regional Manager that will foster and grow the company’s Spirituality Ministry at 3 of its centres – the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre (MMHC) in Melbourne’s CBD, and the two Spirituality Centres located in Williamstown (Saint Joseph’s by the Sea) and Hobart (Josephite Mission & History Centre) – in accordance with the vision, values and charism of the Spirituality Ministry.

As Regional Manager you will manage all aspects of the MMHC directly and through on-site hosts at Williamstown and Hobart Centres to ensure educational and faith formation programs, meetings, events and accommodation services meet customer briefs, and expectations are exceeded.

You will have operational responsibility for regional finances, human resources, work, health and safety matters, communications, IT resources and ensuring the safety and security of visitors.

You will contribute to the development and implementation of the Spirituality Ministry’s strategic and annual operating plans and associated Centre budgets, as well as collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage each Centre’s strategic direction and ministry outreach.

You will promote and maintain the Centres as a place of pilgrimage and inspiration, and identify initiatives, programs and events that can be used to promote the Centres to the general public.

Key to this role will be your ability to understand and embrace the mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, and in particular, a willingness to actively support the purpose, vision and mission of the Spirituality Ministry.

This position is a permanent full-time role and will be located at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, Melbourne.

About You

Key Requirements for the role include:

  • Relevant undergraduate qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an educational, operational, or managerial role or a combination of equivalent training and experience
  • An appreciation of and commitment to supporting the mission and purpose of the Spirituality Ministry and the Sisters of Saint Joseph
  • Proven client management experience, developing proposals, overseeing and implementing programs or events, and post evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience managing people
  • Knowledge of budgeting with proven ability to manage revenue pipelines, create reports and develop strategies to meet and/or exceed targets
  • Well-developed skills in managing the integrity of multiple platforms such as event / accommodation booking systems, customer databases and HR systems
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
