Job Description

Executive Officer to the Chief Operating Officer

Support the Chief Operating Officer in managing the day-to-day operations of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, ensuring smooth administration, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

$115,000- per annum plus superannuation. Full time.

The Role

As the Executive Officer to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Chief Operating Officer in overseeing the General Secretariat’s activities, including governance, administration, and executive assistance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management of Conference agencies, financial matters, and administrative functions.
  • Conducting research and analysis to support projects, governance, and operational decision-making.
  • Preparing reports, discussion papers, and corporate documentation.
  • Managing corporate entities, including preparing papers and collating minutes.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including agency heads, finance personnel, and external organisations.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in business administration or a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse issues and develop solutions.
  • Proven administrative experience, with the ability to work independently in a small team.
  • Excellent electronic, oral, and written communication skills.
  • A good understanding of accounting principles (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A willingness to work within the mission and identity of the Catholic Church.
