Job Description

Marist College Bendigo is a co-educational Foundation to Year 12 college, governed by Marist Schools Australia Limited, with an enrolment of 1200 students. The college is located in the beautiful rural city of Bendigo, a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne. Bendigo is renowned for its art, culture, and food & wine scene. The city has flourished in recent years making it a desirable place to live and work, Bendigo has all the benefits of a metropolitan city with a relaxed rural lifestyle.

Marist College Bendigo is the newest Marist school in Australia, opening it’s doors in 2015. Since then, the college has seen significant growth and development, in terms of building infrastructure, learning facilities, enrolments and family engagement. With such growth the college is restructuring and expanding their leadership team. The College is seeking an exceptional Catholic educator and executive leader with a passion for strategic improvement and staff wellbeing. This new senior leadership position recognises the necessity for both these areas as effective drivers of success for student learning outcomes, reflecting Marist education philosophy. As a vital member of the Leadership Team, this position will deputise in the Principal’s absence.

Essential Requirements
The following are essential requirements for Deputy Principals of a Marist school:

  • Membership of a Catholic Eucharistic community
  • Post graduate qualifications at a Masters level in Educational Leadership including units in Theology
  • Proven leadership skills exercised at a senior level in Catholic education
  • Sound knowledge of child safety standards in the school’s jurisdiction

The successful candidate will commence this new dynamic leadership position in January 2026.
