Job Description

Permanent | Full-Time | North Sydney (Hybrid Work Options Available)

Make your mark leading marketing for an international and community development organisation inspired by Saint Mary MacKillop.

About Us
Mary MacKillop Today is a values-driven international and community development organisation working alongside local partners in Australia, Timor-Leste, Fiji and Peru. We create opportunities for self-determination through education, health, financial inclusion and livelihood programs — reaching those on the margins and transforming lives through lifelong learning.

About the Role
We have an exciting new role for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead our marketing and communications function — shaping our brand, growing our reach, and driving supporter engagement.

This is a strategic and hands-on role, perfect for a creative and values-led professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You’ll be responsible for managing Mary MacKillop Today’s brand and messaging, delivering campaigns, creating compelling content, supporting media outreach, and leading a small team. You’ll work closely with the Fundraising and Programs teams to communicate the impact of our work with integrity and heart.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement a multi-channel Marketing and Communications Strategy.
  • Maintain consistent brand identity and oversee high-quality campaign content.
  • Manage the production of newsletters, reports, digital content and other collateral.
  • Collaborate with fundraising and program teams to ensure strong, aligned messaging.
  • Develop and manage media relationships, PR opportunities and public messaging.
  • Lead and mentor a Digital Marketing Coordinator and contribute to team culture.
  • Evaluate marketing performance, manage budgets and guide external suppliers.

 About You

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or PR (preferably in a not-for-profit, Catholic or purpose-driven context).
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills across formats.
  • Proven ability to lead strategy and campaign delivery.
  • Experience in brand management, ethical marketing and media liaison.
  • Team leadership capability and a collaborative mindset.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Mary MacKillop Today.

Desirable skills include experience with content tools (e.g. Canva, WordPress, Campaign Monitor), knowledge of the Catholic sector, and an understanding of international development.

 What We Offer

  • A chance to lead meaningful work that reflects your values.
  • A supportive and flexible working environment.
  • A small, passionate and high-performing team.
  • The opportunity to grow a national brand with a global impact.
