About the role
Help shape the provision of spiritual and pastoral care of residents, families and staff at Calvary, ensuring their diverse spiritual needs are identified and responded to with exceptional sensitivity, compassion, knowledge and skill.
As a member of the care team in the delivery of services to residents and their family members, you will be responsible for ensuring that the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of residents, their families and staff are identified and responded to. You will be part of an integrated team of people working within an established and agreed framework supporting the resident to live their best life.
As the Pastoral Care Practitioner some of your main duties will include:
Providing spiritual care support to residents according to triage priorities
As required, providing spiritual care support to residents’ family members and to staff
Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
About you
You are a highly engaged professional practitioner, seeking to up hold the dignity of people living in residential aged care and seeking to make a meaningful contribution to their wellbeing.
- A tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counselling or similar
- Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent Recent experience working in a similar role in aged care, health care or community care
- Established skills in preparation, creation, leadership and facilitation of meaningful rituals
- Eligibility for SCA certified membership
