Job Description

The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference is the assembly of Australian bishops, who together exercise pastoral offices for Christ’s faithful. The work of the Conference is to promote that greater good which the Church offers to humankind.

The Conference has eight Bishops Commissions with expertise in different areas of church life.

A number of the Commissions feature their own advisory bodies, or councils. Councils offer expert advice to bishops. We now invite expressions of interest from persons interested in contributing as a voluntary member to the work of one of the following Councils (live links):

Australian Catholic Social Justice Council

Australian Catholic Council for Employment Relations

Australian Catholic Council for Evangelisation Laity and Ministry

Australian Catholic Life Marriage and Family Council

Persons with an interest and experience in these policy areas and a passion for advising the relevant Commissions, for an initial term of three years, are encouraged to indicate their interest in writing, via a brief email, no later than 15 September 2025, to:

Mrs Raifiel Cyril, Executive Officer

E: [email protected]

On receipt of this email, applicants will be provided with instructions and forms to apply to one of the above councils.
