Job Description
We are seeking an organised and proactive Executive Officer to provide high-level administrative and secretariat support to the Deputy General Secretary and Executive Secretaries of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion.
Note: This role is for a fixed-term, until 31 December 2026, with a possibility for extension beyond this time.
The Role
As the Executive Officer, you will:
- Provide secretariat support to the Deputy General Secretary and the Executive Secretaries, including preparing agendas, reports, and minutes.
- Assist with organising and attending Commission and advisory body meetings when required.
- Coordinate planning and workflows for nominated Commissions in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation on SharePoint.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal agencies and external Catholic entities.
- Undertake projects and other tasks as required to support the work of the General Secretariat.
This position works within defined processes and policies, applying professional standards to ensure timely and accurate support for the Bishops Commissions and their advisory bodies.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in both large and small teams.
- Proven ability to plan, lead, and deliver projects effectively.
- An understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and Gospel values, and awareness of issues impacting the life and mission of the Church in Australia.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (desirable).
- Familiarity with Church structures and pastoral life (desirable).
Salary: $120,000 + 12% super.
