The Diocese of Port Pirie is seeking a skilled and committed professional to serve as Safeguarding
Coordinator. Reporting to the Chair of the Diocesan Safeguarding Council, this role leads the
implementation of safe environment culture across parishes and communities in line with the National
Catholic Safeguarding Standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver Safe Environment training to clergy, employees and volunteers
• Oversee Working with Children Checks and safeguarding compliance
• Support and animate the Parish Safeguarding network
• Develop, review and implement safeguarding policies and procedures
Essential Criteria
• Tertiary qualification or 3+ years’ experience in child protection / safeguarding
• Demonstrated adult education and training facilitation skills
• Knowledge of child protection legislation and Child Safe Organisation principles
• Current driver’s licence; satisfactory Working with Children Check required
