CatholicCare Toowoomba Ltd is the social services ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba, delivering vital support to individuals, families and communities across Southwest Queensland.
A New Era of Governance
CatholicCare is transitioning to a modern, skills-based governance model as a company limited by guarantee with a newly establishing Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer.
About the Chief Executive Officer
The CEO is responsible for the overall performance, management, sustainability and growth of the agency, resources, strategy and operations as expressed through the constitution and delegated authority from the Board of Directors.
The CEO leads a highly collaborative, professional team and workplace culture, grounded in Catholic Social Teaching.
The CEO ensures that the agency is fully compliant with its safeguarding, legal, regulatory, contractual and fiduciary obligations.
The CEO actively upholds the National Child Safe Principles, and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards, and champions the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, ensuring that child safe policies and procedures are consistently observed across the agency.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience – What We’re Looking For
- Relevant tertiary degree including social work, psychology, business, finance, or law. Membership (or eligibility) of a relevant professional association including the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) or equivalent governance or post-grad qualification would be desirable.
- Extensive executive leadership knowledge and experience (minimum 5 years), ideally in the not-for-profit sector along with proven capability in leading a highly diverse and complex funding governance, legal, regulatory and operational environment. Experience in leading family and relationship services will be highly regarded.
- Strong commitment to the ethos, teachings, mission and values of the agency and as the social services arm of the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba.
- Executive experience in partnering and reporting to a Board of Directors and in driving and achieving strategic and planning objectives.
- Proven track record of building credibility and trust with funding bodies and sector and community stakeholders.
- Unwavering commitment and skills in leading practice governance and client-centred practice and a track record in the delivery of evidence-informed, safe, high-quality services that enhance the wellbeing of individuals, families and the community.
- Demonstrated financial, commercial and risk management knowledge and experience.
- Professional qualities of integrity, credibility and authenticity combined with a genuine desire to lead a high performing team and improving outcomes for clients who experience significant disadvantage.
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills to influence, collaborate, and build new partnerships and relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including regional and remote areas.
