Salary Range: $86,600 to $124,725 per annum pending experience +Â $9,458Â Senior Leader Allowance

Join the leadership team at St Mary’s Catholic School, Bowen as an Assistant Principal – Religious Education, where your leadership, faith and vision will help shape a vibrant learning community built on care, excellence and Catholic values.
This is a full time, 5 year fixed term contract commencing Term 4, 2026 and concludes in 2031.
In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with the Principal to lead and promote the Catholic identity and mission of the school. You will provide effective professional leadership by developing and nurturing the Catholic tradition and Religious Life of the School, while coordinating the planning, delivery and assessment of Religious Education across all year levels.
As a visible faith leader, you will inspire confidence, enthusiasm and optimism in others – fostering a culture where students are encouraged to live with curiosity, compassion and integrity. You’ll build an inclusive and trusting school community, cultivating productive and supportive working relationships with staff, families and parish partners. Drawing on your strong emotional intelligence and reflective practice, you’ll be an approachable and effective coach, providing clear guidance, constructive feedback and professional mentorship to help others grow.
With proven leadership experience and a deep commitment to Catholic education, you demonstrate the ability to develop and mentor others within a professional learning culture. Drawing on your knowledge of contemporary pedagogy, curriculum design and student wellbeing, you inspire excellence and model inclusive, values-driven leadership. You’ll also lead continuous improvement and innovation, using data-informed practice to strengthen teaching, learning and student outcomes.
You’ll bring authentic faith leadership as an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community, together with full accreditation to teach Religious Education and registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
