Ryan Catholic College, Kirwan was established in 1979 and has as its foundational story the well-known “Journey to Emmaus” from the Gospel of Luke. About the role

Ryan Catholic College, Kirwan is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal – Organisational and Pastoral- Primary to join the College Leadership Team. This role is a full time, 5 year fixed term contract commencing 12 January 2026.

As Assistant Principal – Organisational and Pastoral, you’ll support the Principal in leading school operations, staff development, student wellbeing, and strategic planning. You’ll oversee timetabling, rosters, events, pastoral care, and contribute to the school’s mission through Christ-centred leadership across six dimensions: Faith & Mission, Educational, Staff, Community, Strategic, and Organisational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage school administration including calendars, rosters, and daily operations
  • Lead staff recruitment, induction, and professional development
  • Support student behaviour and wellbeing initiatives
  • Chair key committees and contribute to school-wide planning
  • Promote Catholic identity and community engagement

What You’ll Bring

  • Registration with Queensland College of Teachers
  • Minimum 8 postgraduate units in Educational Leadership, Religious Education, or Catholic Ethos (or commitment to complete)
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills
  • Commitment to the Catholic faith and ethos

Desirable

  • Experience teaching First Nations students
  • Postgraduate qualifications
