Job Description
Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Principal: Religious Education (APRE) to join the leadership team at St Therese’s Catholic Primary School, Monto. This is a full-time 12 month contract, with the possibility of extension.
In this leadership position you will have a commitment to providing quality Catholic education based on your faith, participate in the faith life of the parish, as well as have appropriate teaching experience, academic qualifications and leadership qualities.
The position of APRE acknowledges the important and distinctive place of religious education and faith development within Catholic schools. It is to assist with this particular aspect of the Principal’s leadership role that the role of APRE exists. The APRE focuses on providing leadership in religious education, including the religious life of the school and the teaching of Religion, according to Catholic Education policies and practices in the Diocese of Rockhampton.

We are seeking to appoint a leader who
- is a practising Catholic with a sound understanding of, and commitment to Catholic education
- can foster a culture of inspirational teaching and learning and lead the development and implementation of school improvement initiatives
- has the interpersonal skills to build partnerships within the school and with the local community
- is willing to provide leadership in areas delegated by the Principal in the APRE duty statement, and
- can lead in ways that are consistent with the message of Jesus and the Gospels
- Catholic church teachings, principles and values
- Diocesan policies and directives
- The Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton Charter
- Catholic Education Mission and Vision Statements, policies, practices and strategic directions.

Mandatory RequirementsÂ
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and the ability to obtain approved Queensland College of Teachers Registration
- Australian work rights
