 About Us

Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) was founded by Fr Werenfried van Straaten in 1947 as a Catholic aid organisation for war refugees. It is the only international Catholic organisation today that focuses on the pastoral and spiritual support of suffering Christians.

Through the offerings of 350,000 benefactors worldwide, ACN raises over $200 million annually and supports some 5,500 projects across 140 countries each year.

ACN Australia and New Zealand began in 1965 and is one of 23 national offices which seeks to raise awareness and financial support for this work. The national office in Australia is based in Penrith, NSW.

About the Role

The Benefactor Support Manager plays a key role in providing a warm, personal, and faith-filled experience for ACN’s benefactors. By engaging with both active and prospective supporters, the Benefactor Support Manager helps to build and sustain financial and relational support for ACN’s mission. Central to this role is ensuring that every donation and interaction aligns with ACN’s benefactor journey and established procedures, while maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism.

Reporting to the Director of Benefactor Support, the Benefactor Support Manager coordinates a small team responsible for the full end-to-end processing of donations. In addition to overseeing and guiding the team’s work, the Benefactor Support Manager is also directly involved in the hands-on aspects of donation processing. This leadership ensures the smooth daily operation of benefactor support activities and the effective management of multiple fundraising income streams.

The role demands exceptional customer service skills, given the faith-based context and the sensitivity of handling financial transactions. A high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and data entry accuracy is essential to manage the complex systems and processes involved. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and initiative to the role, actively seeking opportunities to streamline procedures and enhance efficiency while maintaining a positive and consistent experience for all benefactors.

This is a full-time role primarily based at the National Office of ACN Australia in Penrith NSW. There is flexibility of working from home arrangements on Monday’s or Friday’s.

  • Proficient experience in processing a high volume of donations.
  • Proven record of providing exceptional customer service, with professionalism.
  • Demonstrated management experience.
  • Competent computer and internet navigation skills.
  • Skilled use of the Microsoft Suite.

  • The opportunity to work for a mission-focussed organisation that strives to make a difference in the lives of others
  • Option to salary package, which can increase your take-home pay
