About Us

St Vincent’s College (College) is an independent day and boarding school offering a contemporary Catholic Education for girls in Years 7-12. Founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1858, and now under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries, we are a dynamic learning community, cherishing our Catholic heritage and fostering creativity, courage, discernment and leadership in young women.

The Directors of the St Vincent’s College Board are collaborators in the Mary Aikenhead Ministries educational mission. They contribute their expertise, experience and creativity to sustain and continually renew the life of the College and are committed to education and to shaping the educational experiences of our students.

About the Opportunity

The Board is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people who are committed to the principles of Catholic education and have a passion for supporting and promoting exemplary contemporary education.

We are seeking a number of Directors for this voluntary position with considerable knowledge, skills and experience preferably in philanthropy, Catholic education, governance, Catholic mission formation and identity or capital development.

Underpinning the experiences you bring to the Board will be your commitment to the principles of Catholic Education and a commitment to enhancing the role of St Vincent’s College as a significant entity within Mary Aikenhead Ministries and the Catholic Church.

As a member of the College Board, you will work alongside the Board Chair and other members who oversee the governance and direction of the College.  This role is pivotal in shaping the educational experiences of our students, ensuring they are encouraged to be courageous women of action, and develop both personally and as a community.

The current Board meets 8 times per year and those meetings are currently conducted after hours preferably  on campus at Potts Point. Board Directors may be required to serve on or Chair a sub-committee of the Board up to 4 – 6 times a year conducted online and/ or on campus. Travel and other out-of-pocket expenses will be covered to fulfill director obligations. Board Directors are appointed for a 3-year term with a maximum of 3 consecutive terms permitted to a total of 9 years.
