posted 5 days ago in LeadershipJob Description
Catholic Education Queensland (CEQ) is a new company starting operations from 1 January 2026 to replace the Queensland Catholic Education Commission. As the peak strategic body for Catholic education in Queensland, CEQ will represent the interests of Queensland’s 22 Catholic School Authorities. Its role will be to support and advocate for Catholic education in the state.
The Bishops of Queensland seek to appoint a Board of up to eight independent Directors to manage the business of the Company.
The Bishops are seeking individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, experience and capabilities to serve on the CEQ Board. Board members will work both individually and collectively to collaborate with and strategically guide CEQ in addressing current and future challenges in Catholic education across Queensland.
Candidates should bring expertise in areas such as governance, education, finance, legal, risk management, public policy, and strategic leadership. The selection process will follow a skills matrix to ensure a complementary and comprehensive range of capabilities across the Board. Directors will also participate in ongoing formation and professional development to enhance their individual effectiveness and strengthen the Board’s collective ability to serve Catholic education in Queensland.
If you wish to apply, please forward an email, to [email protected] requesting an information pack for the Non-Executive Directors – Catholic Education Queensland Limited.
The information pack specifically details what information applicants are required to provide and will have a self-assessment matrix that must be completed. Only applicants who reside in Queensland will be considered for the Board.
