The Archdiocese is seeking a Business Analyst, Internal Audit and Risk to join our Business Operations team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Manager and working as part of a small team, you will conduct internal audit reviews and undertake related risk analysis and process improvement initiatives in collaboration with parishes and agencies of the Archdiocese.

Using your well-developed analytical skills, you will perform assurance reviews and report on outcomes from assurance testing. You will analyse, aggregate and transform data into actionable insights, and monitor implementation of assurance review recommendations.

You will maintain electronic risk management records and provide guidance and education to agency and parish staff on risk and compliance management systems and processes.

In performing your role, you will develop positive relationships with others, and promote the benefits of risk analysis to the achievement of mission.

The role is a permanent, full-time role based in Sydney’s vibrant inner-west, with the opportunity to work from home two days a week.

About You

The role would ideally suit a candidate with some experience in internal audit and risk, or a subject matter expert who is looking to develop in the field of audit and risk.

As the ideal candidate, you will satisfy the following Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in risk/governance, auditing, business, or other relevant field
  • Minimum two years’ experience in Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance Management or related field
  • Experience in risk analysis and advising clients across multi-layered organisations on risk analysis processes
  • Proven project management skills and experience, with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Technical data analysis skills and knowledge of related information processing tools (E.g. structured query language SQL) and report writing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships
  • Demonstrated commitment to the ethos and values of the Catholic Church.
