Founded in southern Italy in 1732 by St Alphonsus Liguori, The Congregation of the Most Holy redeemer (Redemptorists) are a religious congregation of priests and brothers within the Catholic Church who live in community for the sake of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially among people on the margins of society and Church.

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business & Operations Manager to lead the administrative and operational functions of the Provincial Office. This leadership role is pivotal in building a culture of good governance, strategic planning, and professional administration, enabling the leadership to focus on core missionary priorities.
This appointment marks a shift from a model where the Provincial personally handled much of the administrative work, toward a more professionalised and collaborative structure that supports mission effectiveness.
You will play a vital part in ensuring our mission thrives, overseeing the management of our multi-layered Province, while supporting members, staff and mission partners as they engage and serve thousands each day.
Reporting to the Provincial Superior and the Provincial Council, and leading a small team, the Business and Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that the governance, property, staffing, compliance, and administrative functions of the Redemptorists are conducted with professionalism, transparency, and a spirit of collaboration.
This role requires sound judgment, strategic vision, and a strong capacity to balance day-to-day operational needs with long-term planning. It is ideal for a leader with a strong sense of mission and a proven ability to shape organisational culture.

The role is a full-time position, although we are open to a part-time, minimum 4 days per week, arrangement. The role is based at the Province Office in Kew, Melbourne. The role will be for an initial period of 3-5 years (negotiable) with the possibility of renewal. Some national and international travel will be required.
About You
We are seeking interest from suitably qualified candidates who would like to share in the mission of the Redemptorists. Ideally, we are interested in people who meet the following
Key Requirements:
- Has an appreciation for, and a demonstrated alignment with, the vision, mission and values of the
- Tertiary qualifications in business administration, human resource management or a related field.
- Experience in organisational change management or in building professional structures
- Leadership experience in not-for-profit, educational, health or church sector.
- Demonstrated experience in HR/operations and governance.
- Strong organisational, IT, and project management skills.
- Proven HR management experience, including employee wellbeing and compliance.
- Financial and property management literacy.
- Loyalty, integrity and high levels of discretion.
- Strategic thinker with attention to both detail and the “big picture.”
