 About Us
The Catholic Parish of Epping and Carlingford (Parish) embraces the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, Epping and the Church of St Gerard Majella, Carlingford. We are a community of faith in the Catholic tradition with a rich diversity of cultures and backgrounds. We offer opportunities to enrich and support the needs of our parishioners and provide a broad range of practical outreach ministries which serve the needs of the broader community.
The Parish has recently completed a major development, a brand-new multi-story aged care and independent living facility, and is now seeking a Business Manager to support the Parish Priest in all financial and operational matters in relation to that development and the parish more broadly, all of which underpins the pastoral outreach and mission of the Parish.
About the Role
Reporting to the Parish Priest, and working closely with the parish team, you will lead the financial and operational functions of the Parish. This will involve the management of the parish’s income stream, developing the annual revenue, expense, and capital budgets, monitoring performance throughout the year and the preparation and presentation of the quarterly reports to the Parish Finance Committee.
You will oversee Parish investments to ensure alignment with the agreed strategy. You will oversee parish commercial activities, including hall hire, car parking, retail leases, and OSHC lease arrangement while maintaining a focus on cost efficiency. You will also oversee the donor program, including recording and reconciliation, supervise cash collection and processing, and seeking opportunities to increase online and electronic giving.
From an operational perspective, you will ensure parish facilities – buildings, carparks, grounds, AV systems, electrical services, and rooms – are well maintained, accessible, and welcoming for parishioners and tenants. You will schedule ongoing maintenance of parish facilities and manage contractor details, scheduled maintenance, and reported issues. You will oversee the planning and delivery of capital works projects in consultation with relevant stakeholders. You will also represent both Parish and School interests in the shared management with our commercial partner of our Epping facilities.
The role is a permanent, full-time position and based in Epping.
