  • Apply Before : 1 June 2025

Job Description

  • Diverse role in a supportive team
  • Permanent, part-time (three to four days a week)
  • Lismore location with possible opportunity for a hybrid work model

About Us

Emerging Futures Collaborative Limited (EFCL) is a not-for-profit ministry of Religious Institutes in Australia. EFCL supports Religious Institutes in transition across Australia by working collaboratively with them to ensure continuity, sustainability and ethical stewardship of their mission and resources.

Each Religious Institute accessing EFCL services is known as a ‘service partner’.  With a strong commitment to collaboration and future-focused thinking, EFCL assists service partners in navigating change while honouring their legacy and mission.

The Presentation Sisters Lismore has partnered with EFCL to receive support services; consequently, we are seeking a Business Manager to join our team on a part-time basis.

The Sisters’ mission is to speak and act in partnership with others for global justice from a contemplative stance, in a spirit of oneness with the whole of creation. Their priority areas of action include advancing the rights of women and children, indigenous and tribal peoples, and the earth, and developing and honouring their congregation’s structure, capacity, and strategy.

About the Role

Reporting to EFCL’s Shared Services Manager and working closely with the leadership of the Presentation Sisters Lismore, you will be responsible for the effective stewardship and management of the Congregation’s operational and financial affairs. This includes overseeing budgeting and accounting, managing property and assets, coordinating HR functions, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

As well as providing services for the Congregation as a whole, you will assist individual Sisters with their personal administrative queries.

This position is a permanent, part-time role and may be worked over three to four days a week. The role is based at the Sisters’ Congregation Office in East Lismore, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

About You

Your strong financial acumen and business management skills, at both a strategic and operational level, are key to this role.

Just as important is your sensitivity to the needs of the elderly Sisters and respect for the spiritual mission of the Congregation.

Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Management or related field and/or equivalent experience (membership of a professional body such as CA or CPA is desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrated experience in financial and operational management, ideally within a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Experience in property, asset and staff management and demonstrated ability to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Understanding of the regulatory and governance frameworks relevant to not-for-profit and religious institutions.
  • Competence in relevant software applications including MYOB, Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and HR systems, and experience in managing information technology to support organisational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong customer focus with a commitment to excellence.

What’s on Offer?

  • The opportunity to work for a mission-focussed organisation that strives to make a difference in the lives of others
  • Negotiable workdays (three or four days a week) and hours
  • Possible opportunity to work a hybrid model.
