ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
CatholicCare Sydney is a leading non-profit organisation committed to providing high-quality services to the communities located within the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. Its work spans the delivery of services including Home Care, Disability, Community Services, Family, Youth and Children.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and guidance to ensure CatholicCare Sydney’s strategic and business operations are consistent with its mission, vision, principles and strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the mission of the agency and the delivery of services and operations in alignment with Catholic Social Teachings; empower staff and the Board of the agency to support the mission by supporting their formation and development.
- In consultation with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, develop clear strategic objectives for the organisation.
- Lead, champion and support the provision of person-centred services and best practice strategies, policies and systems.
- Ensure the organisation complies with its legal, regulatory, industrial and other obligations including requirements under funding and service agreements.
- Keep informed of developments in not-for-profit management and governance and assess their implications for the organisation.
- Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities to enhance the organisation’s service offerings and ensure the organisation remains viable and implement these opportunities as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, staff, donors and service providers
- Develop partnerships with other organisations which will assist CatholicCare to grow with regard to innovation, practice, and financial value.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEÂ
- Experienced executive with a minimum of 10 years in an executive leadership role of a diverse workforce in a large organisation or CEO of a smaller organisation is essential, with qualifications in commerce, management, social services, law or other relevant disciplines.
- Experience and knowledge of working with government agencies and funding providers, ideally in roles requiring effective and complex stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Experience in developing, delivering to and reporting against clear strategic plans with milestones.
- Due to the essential breadth of involvement with the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, this position is identified as requiring a practising Catholic who can demonstrate their adherence to the beliefs, values, and practices of Catholicism.
SELECTION CRITERIAÂ
- Proven ability to co-ordinate and drive the formulation of strategy in consultation with Board/key stakeholders.
- Strong and proven leadership capability through leading an executive team to implement strategy.
- A solid understanding of government and public policy as it relates to health, community services and aged care.
- Results-oriented leader, with highly-developed communication and influencing skills.
- Risk management and overseeing compliant sustainable processes and/or technology and its implementation and/or an organisation in change/transformation.
- Strong/visionary leader who engenders fellowship and is able to clearly set expectations for teams.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with Boards or other governance and oversight forums, as well as other key stakeholders.
