About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Community Coordinator to foster connection, engagement, and operational support for the Dominican sisters based in Strathfield. You will design, implement, and oversee community programs in alignment with the ethos and mission of the Congregation and the Catholic Church and enrich the social and communal lives of the sisters.
This position offers flexibility, with final hours (part-time or full-time) to be negotiated based on the successful applicant’s availability and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Management: Develop and execute community events, social activities, and engagement initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Act as a central point of contact, supporting the sisters, fostering community life, and managing external relationships.
- Support Coordination: Organise and manage staff to assist with community life and special events to allow the Sisters to continue to live their religious life and mission and to assure their wellbeing.
- Communications: Manage internal communications, regular updates, newsletters, and announcements for the congregation.
- Administration: Maintain accurate databases, handle correspondence, and coordinate schedules for individuals with the support of the Pastoral Carer and Health and Wellbeing Coordinator.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Relevant qualifications in Community Development, Theology, Ministry, Social Work, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Proven track record in community coordination, aged care, leadership and management within a religious setting would be an advantage.
- Compliance & Legal: Current National Police Check, and the unrestricted right to work in Australia.
- Logistics: Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general comfort learning new digital systems.
Position Details
- Location: Strathfield, NSW.
- Hours: Part-time or Full-time (Hours to be negotiated with the preferred candidate).
- Remuneration: Competitive salary package commensurate with qualifications and relevant industry guidelines.
