About Us

The Emerging Futures Collaborative Limited (EFCL) is an innovative ministry established by a collaborative of Catholic Religious Institutes in Australia, to address an emerging need in religious life for transition and support services. The Presentation Sisters Lismore is one of EFCL’s Service Partners.

The Lismore Congregation is comprised of 20 Sisters with differing living arrangements in Lismore and surrounds. As part of their responsibility to provide support services to the Presentation Sisters Lismore, EFCL seeks to engage a Community Coordinator.

About the Role

The Community Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring the Sisters, both individually and collectively, are supported to continue to live their religious life and mission in a way that enhances the wholistic wellbeing of all.

Reporting to the Shared Services Manager, EFCL, you will provide pastoral and practical support to the Sisters, ensure supports and resources are appropriate to their needs, and escalate matters if and when required.

You will maintain regular contact with and advocate on behalf of individual Sisters, and be the contact person for residential aged care facilities where some of the Sisters reside.

Using your exceptional interpersonal skills, you will develop positive relationships and provide companionship to each Sister, and assist them to maintain connections with their family, friends and broader Presentation networks.

You will ensure the Sisters are kept informed and connected through gatherings, newsletters and meetings, and coordinate special events such as birthdays and jubilees. You will also support the Sisters in maintaining their congregational traditions and spiritual connections as a group.

Ensuring confidentiality and discretion, you will manage each Sister’s personal and legal documents, including coordinating the process of updating Enduring Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship documents, as required.

The role is a permanent, part-time role (22.8 hours a week) with flexible days and hours.

About You

You will have an empathetic nature and be sensitive to the needs and cultural context of religious Sisters; and be willing to understand and align with the mission and charism of the Congregation.

Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in pastoral care, social work or a related field
  • Proven experience in providing care, support, and coordination within a community or religious setting
  • Familiarity with legal and administrative requirements related to aged care, power of attorney and guardianship
  • Demonstrated ability to act with empathy and genuine interest in each Sister’s situation and to maintain tact, discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Current Driver’s Licence and access to a fully insured and maintained motor vehicle
  • Willingness to maintain an up-to-date Covid-19 vaccination status as determined from time to time by the Commonwealth Government, and annual flu vaccinations.

What’s on Offer?

  • The opportunity to support those who have dedicated their lives to supporting others
  • Negotiable days and span of hours
  • Per kilometer travel reimbursement for use of personal motor vehicle.
