FULL TIME| PERMANENT | COMMENCING 14 APRIL 2025 | SALARY- $ 144,826 P.A PLUS SUPER

The School:

Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School (LACS) is situated in the Santa Teresa community, about 83 km south- east of Alice Springs. The community started as a Catholic Mission in the early 1950s. The local Arrernte language is the first, most frequently used language. The school also features a strong English as an additional language/dialect (EALD) approach. There are about 600 people in the community and a school enrolment of approximately 130 students from Pre-School to year 12.

The Position:

The Deputy Principal provides a high level of leadership, counsel and support to the Principal across all aspects of the College, with a specific focus on: Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, Timetabling, Daily Organisation, and Staff Management. The Deputy Principal is challenged to be a person of faith and vision for Catholic education and has the capacity to communicate this vision to others in the school community. As a member of the senior leadership team of the school, key areas of work include management of the college and working with specialised staff members to achieve student outcomes.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Catholic who is an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community.
  • If circumstances warrant it, we will accept applications from a person of faith who is an active member of their community and is committed to Catholic values and participation in Catholic Worship.
  • Post graduate qualifications or undertaking to commence studies in Religious Education,
  • Theology and/or Educational Leadership.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with NT Teacher Registration Board.
  • Working with Children Card (Ochre Card NT).
